Our New Bench Pilot: Strong, Accessible, and Cost-Effective

Calgary Transit is testing two bench styles, stainless steel and concrete, at select CTrain stations.

Why This Matters

Benches aren’t just a place to sit—they’re part of an accessible, welcoming transit system. The new designs are built to last up to 10 years, which means fewer replacements and lower maintenance costs. That’s good news for everyone.

Here’s what makes these benches different:

  • Corrosion-resistant materials for durability in Calgary’s changing weather.
  • Easy to repair and replace, reducing downtime and saving money.

Where You Can Try Them

You’ll find the pilot benches at:

  • Marlborough Station
  • City Hall Station
  • Brentwood Station

Take a seat, see what you think, and share your feedback! Scan the QR code at the station to complete a quick survey. Can’t scan? Click here to take the survey online.
